PORTRAIT & PALETTE KNIFE WORKSHOP

Event description

Be guided through the process of building a face with a series of acrylic-based gestural techniques incorporating glazing, palette knives and tonal activities. Participants are encouraged to explore an expressive approach to painting and step outside of their comfort zones.

  • Informal and relaxed workshop
  • All materials provided - however if you have palette knives please feel free to bring 
  • Suitable for all ages and levels of experience
  • If you have a hair dryer please bring
  • Located in the Annex building behind the Vancouver Arts Centre next to carpark

 

Workshop Facilitator: 

Mark Tweedie is a West Australian figurative artist whose work is characterised by themes of family, memory, and ageing. Mark’s work is known for its painterly style with a particular attention to surface texture. Mark has exhibited nationally and been a finalist in prominent art prizes, including the Blake Prize and the Black Swan Prize.
